Biscai — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Biscai mobile application (the "App"), operated by Pavel Nikolov ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use the App.

2. What Biscai is

Biscai is an AI-assisted cooking and nutrition helper. It identifies ingredients and meals from photos, generates recipes, estimates calories and macronutrients, and tracks your activity (steps and active energy) to give you an overview of your day. It is a convenience and lifestyle tool, not a medical device.

3. Not medical or professional advice

Biscai does not provide medical, nutritional, dietary, or other professional advice. Calorie counts, macronutrient values, "calories burned", and recipe suggestions are estimates and may be inaccurate. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified doctor, dietitian, or other professional.

Always consult a professional before making decisions about your diet, exercise, or health, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or follow a specific diet. Never disregard professional advice because of something in the App.

4. AI-generated content and accuracy

The App relies on artificial intelligence to identify food and estimate nutrition. AI can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Identified foods, quantities, calories, prices, and recipes may not reflect reality. Verify anything important yourself before relying on it.

5. Allergies and food safety

Do not rely on Biscai to detect allergens or ensure food safety. AI ingredient identification can miss or misidentify items, including allergens. If you have a food allergy, intolerance, or medical dietary requirement, always check actual product labels and packaging and consult a professional. We are not responsible for adverse reactions resulting from reliance on the App.

6. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Notify us of any unauthorized use.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the App unlawfully or for any harmful purpose;
• attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems;
• upload content that is illegal, infringing, or that you have no right to share;
• misuse the AI features (e.g. submitting content unrelated to food in a way that abuses the service).

8. Your content

You retain ownership of the photos and content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to process Your Content solely to provide the App's features (for example, sending a meal photo for AI analysis as described in the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for having the right to submit Your Content.

9. Intellectual property

The App, its design, mascot, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights in them except the right to use the App as intended.

10. Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services, including Apple HealthKit, Google Health Connect, Supabase, and Anthropic. Your use of features that depend on them may also be subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any health, dietary, or financial outcome arising from your use of, or reliance on, the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.
